a (very) brief bio....
Neil Preece (that's me on the left).
I am an artist. I make sculptures out of wire, metal, wood and concrete. They focus principally on the human form, in all it's fascinating anatomical variety and diversity of activity.
Once upon a time I was a maths teacher. I enjoyed sculpture as a hobby and had positive reviews when I occasionally exhibited my work. However, after 25 years in the classroom I couldn't escape a question that was bugging me. What could I produce if I dedicated myself to my art instead of scratching out a few hours each week?
So I moved with my wife from our home in São Paulo to the village where she grew up in the rural north east of Brazil.
I can't say I have regretted a minute of this adventure.
